The “Special Needs Children Workshop 2023 – How to support our children with special needs and their development?” was organised by the Division of Community and International Networking of UTAR (Sungai Long Campus), and our clinical psychologist, Ms Lee Li Li was invited to share and discuss on the above topic.
The workshop contents include guiding the teachers and parents on the practical way to identify developmental delay in children by introducing child developmental milestones and the red flags, introduction to neurodevelopmental disorders, case studies, and so on. The participants also obtained an opportunity to experience activities that help to develop child attentional control and challenging behaviour management. The workshop ended with an interactive Q&A session that cleared the participants’ doubts in many aspects of special needs children.
Lastly, we would like to express our appreciation to the Division of Community and International Networking of UTAR (Sungai Long Campus) for organising such a meaningful workshop. We also hope that the participants have gained meaningful insights to support the children with special needs!
