The Millennials
Millennials have a drastically different idea of what they want out of an employment experience. Millennials are educated, tech-savvy, confident, and expect personalization. They also seek challenges, have more control over their work, and boldly break out of conventional ways of working.
The Mindset of Millennials
Baby Boomers have experienced change during the age of turbulence, such as the economic crisis. As a result, they believed in hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and the value of getting where you want to go and ultimately being rewarded. However, millennials are growing up in a digital age with more resources, opportunities and choices in their lives. Millennials therefore value self-actualization over physiological needs.
Why Are Millennials Leaving Their Jobs?
The relationship between an individual's career and their compatibility with skills, interests, values, and personality traits dramatically affects job satisfaction. For example, when a person maintains a positive self-concept, they are more likely to achieve greater career satisfaction and contribute to employee retention.

Suggestions for the employers:
- Guide young employees towards self-actualization
- Provide equality, respect and empowerment to your young employees
- Ensure the young employees have access to a wide range of opportunities, including business development, challenging/exciting engagements, and international assignments
- Adhere to the performance system (KPI) as the young employees look forward to recognition
- Setup industrial and organizational psychological counselling services
