Survival Skills in Malaysia 『Journey of Survival』

Survival is not based merely on the hard skills that we learned in schools or tuitions, but more importantly, the soft skills that are developed through our experiences. Through dedication and being empathy while brainstorming in the team-working activities, such as daily chores, earning and managing their work income, etc., the children were able to cultivate independence, emotional and cognitive empathy, and problem solving skills.

S.P.E.A.R. : Whenever a difficult situation or challenge arises, the children have to first stop and plan on their action steps, execute it and assess if their solutions are effective.


Conclusion

As quoted by Benjamin Franklin, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” The experiences that they earned were what they have reaped from planning and executing the best plan. We hope that the children will continue to practice the values and lessons learned in their daily livings.
