Understanding and respect:
Part of the development of our country comes from the contributions of our older generations. During the visitation, the children were able to interact with the old folks while providing simple act of kindness to them, such as massages. A jovial atmosphere was filled as the two generations shared their experiences and opinions; respecting one another as they shared and learned about each other’s background and interests.
Care and appreciation:
The visitation to Rumah Victory has reap joy from the loves and cares from each individual that contributed, either through services or donations. The children were thoughtful when preparing food for elderlies, ensuring hygiene were kept. In addition, the children were taught on the importance of environmental cleanliness while cleaning the home by ensuring that all corners of the home are well-cleaned, in hope to provide a more comfortable environment for the elderlies. Other than that, the children has also provided some heartfelt services to the elderlies, such as feeding the elderlies whom needed assistance, washing of feet and shoulder massages. In conjunction to the visitation, we also celebrated the birthdays of two elderlies.
Conclusion:
Hand in hand, together we spread love - it is through the contributions and donations from children’s parents, teachers, and volunteers that have provided an impact in the visitation. Throughout the visitation, the children were able to learn empathy and respect towards the elderlies, and also to care and appreciate elders, that it may cultivate their social responsibility and a grateful heart in the society.
